Ullanda McCullough recorded three albumsLove Zone (1979, Ocean) Ullanda (1981, Atlantic) Watching Me, Watching You (1982, Atlantic) Despite their quality, only Charles of Pensacola bought them. I own the record and cassette of her self-titled and third albums. Ullanda had quite a career singing backup for Patti Austin (on my favourite, Havana Candy), Thelma Jones (on her outstanding self-titled album), Carly Simon, Roberta Flack, Diana Ross, Chic, Michael Zager, Cissy Houston, Chaka Khan, Billy Joel and the Blues Brothers, among others. Another instance where talent, looks and sensuality were not enough for harsh, commercial America. |
