Yancy Butler grew up in Manhattan, where she was born. In the Village. You may remember her dad, Joe Butler, singer and drummer for the Lovin' Spoonful. She studied acting from age 13 without ever learning how to give a poor performance. Ms Butler made her television debut on "Law & Order," which led to a series of series: "Mann and Machine," "South Beach" and "Brooklyn South." Her first feature film role was in "Hard Target." Not only is she a great actress – she looks fantastic.
